Exhibition: Almere,Museum De Paviljoens — 04 August 2002
The Collection Almere: Ceci n’est pas une architecture
- 4 Aug 2002 - 20 Oct 2002
The exhibition Ceci n'est pas une architecture consisted of works from The Almere Collection. One of the focal points of the collection is artists and artworks who deal with issues related to architecture. The exhibition’s title refers to the famous painting by René Magritte, Ceci n’est pas une pipe (1926), which portrays a pipe with that sub-title.
Just as in Magritte’s work, the works exhibited in Ceci n'est pas une architecture are merely a reference to the reality of genuine architecture. By incorporating the landscape artworks of Libeskind and Boezem, the exhibition stretches beyond the confines of the building.
The following artist took part in this exhibition: Sabine Bitter & Helmut Weber, Marinus Boezem, Daniel Libeskind, Rudy J. Luijters, Paul Robbrecht & Hilde Daem, Schie 2.0, Moniek Toebosch, Nicky Zwaan, Edwin Zwakman, Ben Zegers and goodwill.
