From 2005-2008, Xue Mu has developed a project called *A_Childish_Nothingness , this project is the practical base for her study on art & concerned issues.
Through art, I experience the world where I am living in as an imaginary outsider.
I prefer to see life as a notion rather than the physical existence. So that the possible forms of life can be more than I’ve learned from scientific facts and historical references. And a new scales of living experience can be made, and to be enlarged without limit. This idea transformed the realistic understanding of life into an abstract and imaginary realm which I think is what art meant to be mastery.
In 2005 I started *A_Childish_Nothingness project. It is an on-going visual art practice and at the same time it is the concept for many of my works.
My intention in A_C_N is to put my interest in the very present aspect of things, people, and situations, seeing the world without direct guidance from historical, social and political knowledge. Issues which were not generally addressed, or were ignored draw my particular attention. I collect amazement of exploring into the infinity of littleness.
The metaphorical adventures in *A_Childish_Nothingness has been mapped the picture of another value system, in relation with those existing value systems, it is discussed in thesis for my MFA study.
